We’ve featured a number of tools that let you download SoundCloud audio files (here and here).
This time around we bring you another option, which may be the more interesting of the bunch simply because it adds a ‘download’ button right on the SoundCloud track itself, inside the browser, making the download process simpler and easier.
SoundCloud downloader is a FREE browser extension that installs on Windows and adds SoundCloud download functionality in the form of a download button, and works with Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer.
There’s not much to say about this. It works really well, but note that you will need to use the ‘new’ version and not Classic SoundCloud.To download, simply click on the button and save the file (in contrast with other downloaders that require the copying and pasting of URLs, etc.)
The Verdict:
A brilliant, straightforward, and immediate solution to all of your SoundCloud Downloading needs.
The only criticism is that the installer can sometimes be rather insistent on installing other offers and software (a.k.a crapware), and may ask to do so more than once. If you are given the choice between a ‘typical’ and ‘advanced’ (or ‘custom’) installation, choose ‘advanced’ and tick off anything you don’t want. Do not choose ‘typical’ as that will likely install other things.
