Thank You

This page created: 9/11/2008.  Still a work in progress.

I would like to thank the following people to whom I am endebted for helping me create this site:

  1. Simon Stryjak: my colleague whose help with various technical details and hosting issues was crucial early on, and whose help was invaluable when I needed to switch hosting companies.
  2. Matt Pressnall: gets credit for advising me early on to use “Freewaregenius” rather than “Freewarebot” as the name of my site.
  3. Nik Papic: helped me with SEO and designed my logo (the original orange Freewaregenius light bulb, which is now changed from his original creation).

More thank-you’s coming soon. This is a work in progress.

    hello,

FYI i had a hard time finding software using the search box on your site. for example, i searched for “Faststone Capture” but it didn’t return the relevant page.

Thanks for all your tips and finds. FWG is one of my favorite sites. Of the apps I try, only about one in ten sticks around on my laptop for any significant length of time, but without your recommendations, it’d be more like one in 100 and I’d spend far more time looking for the occasional great find than I do already. Keep up the good work.

May I suggest our free sound editor from http://www.wave-editor.com

  • Marty

I used your Cloud Comparison and selected iDrive, however, upon activating an account I found that at least 2 of the parameters that you defined were, in fact, either incorrect or they had been abandoned: 1) 500 MB upload limit was abandoned; and 2) the 10 GB bonus for providing your email was discontinued and now they only give 1 GB for every referral.

So I uninstalled iDrive and I am still looking and comparing services.

    • Samer

@ Marty: thanks for the info. I am updating these comparisons soon and will take another look. I do wish this comment was under the right article though.
