It is very easy to plot an XY Scatter chart in MS Excel, which is a graph displaying a group of data points that intersect across related variables (such as performance vs. time for example, or sales vs. profitability, etc). What is not easy, however, is adding individual labels to these data points, requiring users to actually go in and label each data point manually. If labeling a scatter chart is what you want then you need XY Chart Labeler, a free add-on for Excel that will use an Excel range to add labels to individual points in an XY scatterplot.
XY Chart Labeler works with Excel 2003, 2007 and 2010 on Windows or Mac. Continue reading ..

There are plenty of eBook readers out there, and even more than a few for mobile devices like Androids. That means, of course, that you have tons of options for which reader you choose to use. How, then, do you decide which one? The simple answer is to use Cool Reader.

Have you ever played a game and thought to yourself, “I could make a better game than this in my sleep!” or, “This game’s plot and story are terrible! Who wrote this garbage?” If you have then you’re in luck, because you can actually create your very own adventure games with the Adventure Game Studio (AGS). Yes! You can now be responsible for your friends feeling hours of frustration over a puzzle, or you can be the one who brings hours of joy to them. It’s your choice, with AGS.
“But,” you cry out, “don’t you have to know a whole lot about coding and scripting and all that jazz to make a game?” Not with AGS! It’s set up with the beginning learner in mind and it does quite a good job at leading the user through the process from beginning to end. There is some scripting involved, but it’s very easy and simple, and the tutorial for AGS leads you through it almost painlessly. Continue reading ..

Although the MKV video file format is becoming increasingly more popular, most Windows PC’s will not display thumbnails for MKV files by default, a small esthetic detail which can nonetheless potentially make this otherwise excellent video format less preferable in the eyes of many users.
If you would like a quick way to add thumbnails to MKV videos then read on. This article will outline a relatively easy way to do this using a combination of freeware tools (LAV Filters, which will add the necessary codec to your system, and a Windows extension called Icaros which will use the new filter to add thumbnails to Windows explorer). Note, however, that the process described here requires MS .NET Framework 4 be installed on your system. Continue reading ..

With app stores becoming ever more popular, wouldn’t it be cool if there were a free software you could install that would download all freeware games? GameDownloader is that program.
GameDownloader is an open source quasi app-store/free game portal. The games on offer are mostly established, popular free games, many of which you have heard of; but it will invariably include some gems that you likely have not seen before. Continue reading ..
