Consider this: you are travelling and you go to an internet café to check your email, where you find out, to your surprise, that the keyboard layout on the computer you are using is totally different than the one you use.
Or let’s say you simply want to write an email in a foreign language. Either way, ‘Google Input Tools’ can help.
Google Input Tools will let you input whatever language you need on any machine.
It’s a handy extension for Chrome that allows users to type using their desired keyboard layout. It can display an on-screen ‘virtual keyboard’ and supports every conceivable language you could think of.
How to Use Google Input Tools
All you need to do is add this extension to your Google Chrome browser. and then you will see the icon on the top right of your chrome browser. Clicking on the icons will display you the Google Input Tools options and you select the from a number of languages you want to write in. Just click on the language and add it to the selected input tools.
You can then simply go to the icon again to toggle language you want to write in, start writing and your entered text will appear in that language. For instance, I wrote my name in Urdu just to give you an example of how it works.
This is a really simple plugin, but can be a lifesaver if you need it. It worked flawlessly when I tested it with the Urdu layout. If you want a simple and easy to use tool to write in foreign keyboard layouts, Google Input Tools is a must have extension for Chrome. One thing you should note, however, is that it may not work on every website on the internet, so bear that in mind.
