DMEXBar is a free Windows explorer toolbar extension that provides the functionality of a dual-pane file management program straight from within any normal window. It integrates a wide range of functions into a toolbar embedded within Windows explorer and can, additionally, control and arrange multiple open windows on the desktop side by side in the style of a file management programs.

My Lockbox is a free program that can quickly hide and password protect a folder and all files/folders within it from being shown in the Windows files system, and will do so under Windows safe mode as well.

ResizeEnable is a small, free windows hack that gives you the ability to resize any window by dragging and dropping its lower right corner – including those windows that normally do not allow you to resize them.

System Explorer is a system monitoring and analysis program that picks up where the Windows "Task Manager" leaves off. It expands on the "Task Manager" by adding many more features, including detailed info on processes, Windows, IE addons, connections, drivers, opened files, Explorer, services, startups, and uninstallers.

On the NTFS file system, freeware program “Link Shell Extension” provides you with the ability to create clones (called hard links) of your files and folders straight from the context menu.

Clickzap offers the ability to execute one of a handful of useful tasks whenever you double click your right mouse button.

Freeware program Antifreeze offers a last recourse when your computer freezes/becomes unresponsive. Invoked by a hotkey combination (CTRL-Win-Alt-Home), it will “put to sleep all running programs except the most critical ones”, with the objective of giving you back the ability to intervene and close problematic programs.
