The idea behind this program is that when Windows boots, it attempts to launch a number of applications in succession that end up simultaneously competing for resources, overloading the system and delaying the successful conclusion of the booting process. Description: Auslogic Disk Defrag is a freeware disk defragmentation tool that seems to be significantly faster than Microsoft’s defrag.

The Auslogics claim that this program is a very fast disk defragmenter; however, I have not found any figures as to how much faster than defrag this is supposed to be. What I do know, however, is that the defragmentation process with this program feels pretty darn speedy just to observe. Read more »
