I love this program, I use it all the time to try all kinds of new Linux distro’s ,you may want to download the LiveCD yourself though and use the ‘use iso” option because sometimes when it downloads the latest release I had problems

    BTW I love Freewaregenius.com THANX!!!!

When I select the option to install the ISO in Hard Drive, it only gives me the option to install in C Drive. How can I install it in a different partition?

I love Unetbootin. I use it to create the USB image for Bauer-Puntu Linux.

Unless UNetbootin has changed recently, installed Linux distros don’t necessarily save data to the USB drive. Persistence must be present in the Linux distro itself, and the last time I used UNetbootin it would not create a persistent storage for Ubuntu. USB Creator would be preferable for most users.

As the article mentions, those who want to use Linux on USB will find it somewhat frustrating because not every computer will boot from a USB, and many machines are locked by administrators from allowing a USB boot. When this is the case, one must also have a CD “boot disc” handy which some Linux distros have ready-made (SLAX) or instruction can be found at pendrivelinux.com for Ubuntu versions.

Yes, it’s a good one. But as Samer, I have not been able to boot on the key with Ubuntu 9.10.

As a consequence, I suggest to use: lili linux live usb creator which is very similar (but more flashy).

@Samer: I do not want to install the distro in a USB Drive, I want to install it in my local hard drive. There is an option “type”, which lets you either select “USB Drive” or “Hard Disk”. If I select “USB Drive” it shows me the list of all partitions; but when I select “Hard Disk”, it only shows Partition C.

So, how do I install a distro locally (ie, not in USB) in a partition other than C ?
