@ Kent, Gregg, bolgwrad: I agree that FileMenu Tools is *probably* the best such app in this class. I did give it a mention in my "verdict" section above.

@Free: Lammer Context Menu is pretty cool. Thanks for letting me know about it. Check out my review of it below:

Yep, FileMenuTools is far and away the best context menu extension of this type. It's transparent as far as Explorer goes (ie doesn't add anything you don't want) and you can add anycommand, file or shortcut you like.

I've tried everything discussed on this page (up to the point of this writing, that is), and I think FileMenu Tools is just about the best of this type of tool out there.

Not only that, looking at the JDContextmenu web site, I see:

       Program Requirements / Info

          • Windows 9x, ME, NT4, 2000, XP, 2003
          • Admin rights

This thing's only been tested/tweaked up through XP/2003. That means no tweaking/testing for Vista, 2008 or now Win7... all of which (particularly the 64-bit versions) are VERY different from XP in many areas.

FileMenu Tools, on the other hand, has been updated as recently (as of this writing) as July 2009. And from what I can tell, FileMenu Tools just generally outfeatures/outperforms JDContextmenu.

There's no decision to be made here, from MY perspective. FileMenu Tools is my favorite, too... and I'll be sticking with it.
