Thanks music2 – I agree. We don’t require eq on radio and my system at home is set to reproduce as close as possible to what the record producer intended, so I just use a good sound card. I do use a multi-band equaliser on the DJ system, but that’s external. I use Mediamonkey a little, usually to change file format etc. but haven’t played with the eq – I’ll give it a try
What do you think is wrong with the sound output? – and perhaps have a word to Alex on the forum and he may be able to assist, I’ve had some great ideas from him and I know he’s working to improve the program.
My personal system uses a Soundblaster card and an interface from Elan Audio to reduce noise. The computer speakers are Altec Lansing 6121 and my sound system has Acoustic Research 3A speakers.

tribedenis, fair enough and happy for you.

to me however you cannot even compare, to start you only get 3 equalizer bars vs 10 on mediamonkey.

and you don’t even get any output sound options (or plugins to ad some) just a default one.

and please don’t get me wrong, i like the program but is far from being at the same level at some other ones. to be fair, they are just starting, if they put more effort to their sound quality i will be the first one to use it because i like interface and some of their features.

i also dj, and am a musician.

I’ve been using Jaangle ever since the early Teen Spirit days, the main reason that it can play continuously while you load and unload other directories (like usb memory sticks) then update the playlist on the run. I’ve used it for DJ work and a community radio station and haven’t noted any loss in quality compared to other players.

I really like the interface and features but no matter what I do I cannot make it sound as good as Mediamonkey, so I will not use it.

After all, the sound quality is of most importance.
