    sounds good although i’m looking just for a download scheduler for any sort of file – we’re a bit primitive down here in australia and prefer to use my off-peak quota for downloading. will jdownloader do this or should i use something else?

    @gill bates:
    No, it can’t do that (yet)

    Since version 7 it integrates much better with Firefox through the extension FlashGot

    I’m surprised no one has reviewed Free Download Manager – it does an absolutely lovely job at downloading from rapidshare, and works well with premium rapidshare as well. Bit torrent support included, and load and loads of other options included. No malware, adware etc – clean.

    I think it deserves a review Samer! :)

    I notice some people in the comments, here, asking about alternatives. First of all, the one in the article-in-chief, here, is one of the best.

    But I’ll tell you who’s really got his finger on the pulse of all this downloader (from RapidShare-type sites) stuff…

    …and that’s the guy who does the Raymond.cc blog. I’m NOT suggesting that one should foresake THIS site in favor of that one. They’re two completely different things.

    But that Raymond guy is really into his RapidShare-style downloading, and he’s always on top of the latest tools…

    …for whatever that’s worth. Just tryin’ to help.

    Give SkipScreen a try…it’s an extension for Firefox and is an excellent download handler for filesharing sites which require you to wait after an initial download…it will do everything for you.

    Find it here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/11243

    Try RSDownloader for downloading files from rapidshare.

    The site for downloading this program requests to support by buying a rapidshare premium account. A program working against the interest of rapidshare is asking to buy premium account. Strange and fishy

    An impressive software for people who like to download from those sites

    So far I believe Jdownloader is simply the best, and if its persuading you to buy a rapidshare account that does’nt really make it fishy or strange. It is concerned about the interests of both, the free users and rapidshare.
