Program throws a runtime exception for me whenever I try to create my PDF file. Did anyone else come across this problem and know how to fix it?

1) I captured a scrolling screen into a JPG. As it was a long article with graphics, this seemed the best way to go.

2) Tried this jpeg-to-pdf software, but it only made an empty (i.e. blank) pdf file that still managed to be the same size (about 6mb) as the original jpg file. I tried several times and every single time it produced a blank page far bigger than a genuinely blank pdf file should be. Ergo, this software is useless to me.

3) I have PrimoPDF and I can't figure out how to "pdf-print" more than one screenful of the jpg. I've tried via several different programs, no luck. I always get one page of it. Ergo, PrimoPDF is useless to me. Not to mention it slows down the computer.

4) Tried an online converter, but it messed up some parts of the text. Still, it was the only method that actually produced the article in full. So well done whoever runs that page, but ultimately it was useless also.

5) In the same time I spent doing all of this, I probably could have grabbed the text and the pictures and graphs and turned it all into a readable file manually. Of course, I have no intention of doing that, so I'll just forgetaboutit instead.

Must be hard to convert one lousy jpg file into a pdf document of several pages. I mean, the program would actually have to a) split the jpg into screenfuls of jpg files, and b) then convert those jpgs into a pdf file. Very hard to do apparently. Either that or it can be done by PrimoPDF, but in a way I just can't figure out, and considering I tried pretty much every option offered, it means it is a useless non-option to any ordinary user who wants to convert a big jpg file into a PDF file of several pages.

That's probably why the REAL programs cost money. Not that I'd ever give Adobe any money or buy some other program that shouldn't be but a simple exercise for a programmer.

Thanks for the review, by the way. I tried the software. Didn't work.

@Old Man Dotes: its not at all for making thumbnail sheets.
Its for compiling a bunch of Jpeg's into an ebook.
E.g: you go to a conference and take numerous notes. Once in the office you scan them, then compile them into a PDF.

Actually, very useful when converting CBZ/CBR comics into PDF ebooks. Here's a posting I wrote in 2006

Why would you do that? Are your Jpeg files not occupying enough hard drive space? Ah, I see, it's for making thumbnail sheets or some such. There's no earthly reason to do it for a *single* Jpeg.
