Actually I use FF + ScrapBook + Adobe Contribute to archieve the web page AND add comments or anything I’d like to it. The only regret is there is no Sync capability to keep my Scrapbook archieves sync-ed online.. NetNotes looks quite nice.. will give it a try… tks

Thanks for sharing how you do it, whisky. For others sake, I just want to clarify that Adobe Contribute is not a freeware title.

Thankyou for this review – an interesting and quite thorough take on Canaware NetNotes. I have been using Scrapbook for a year or so, and found it very useful and very good/stable. However, Canaware NetNotes may overcome some of the constraints of Scrapbook. I shall now try out Canaware NetNotes – which I probably would not have done but for your review. One puzzle might be how to migrate my fairly extensive library (database) from Scrapbook to Canaware NetNotes, but I am hoping they both use common, open standards.

Thanks. Too bad though it’s not for the Opera browser.

is this somewhat the same as NVu ? Anyway another great alternative from freewaregenius. Nice post!

    From the NVu website:
“Nvu (pronounced N-view, for a “new view”) is a complete Web Authoring System that combines web file management and easy-to-use WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) web page editing. Nvu is designed to be extremely easy to use, making it ideal for non-technical computer users who want to create an attractive, professional-looking web site without needing to know HTML or web coding. ”

NVu allows you to create and modify webpages. It could be used to view offline web pages, but it doesn’t provide the search, adding metadata, or easy exporting functionalities that NetNotes does.

What difference are there between this program and Evernote? Somebody care to elaborate more? That will be extremely useful! Thanks in advance!

    @ Jason H

Thank you for further elaborating the difference between Nvu and this one. I guess somehow they are the same, but some critical feature made them different too. Thanks again.

Version 5.2 was released yesterday, it works fine on Vista now.
