The same thing can be accomplished using the QUICK LAUNCH feature in WIN XP .You can open ANY links both local and internet and you can name the links anything you find recognizable as well as choose the icons. All this convenience in a scrollable pop-up side- bar accessed from the taskbar.. You can even expand the link icons across the entire taskbar.
You can drag any link there from either your browser or windows explorer(link to folders, files,programs, or web-pages). I f you use multiple browsers, QUICK LAUNCH will ask you which browser to use to open the specific web-link instead of just throwing you to the default browser.
There may not be a cutesy interface, but the efficiency of the windows built-in QUICK LAUNCH feature cannot be topped..

I loved the circle design and the functionality of it. It is a great tool, I am now suggesting to everyone, and people using it telling me that they enjoy it greatly.

I was using object dock but this circle one is a better one, since you can put in more object and it is more usable. I loved it already.

Great looking program with tons of potential…its the first launcher I’ve actually been interested in. Unfortunately when I have firefox open with Circle Dock running I get massive freezing. There’s no insane memory/cpu usage going on, the screen just freezes. It doesn’t matter if CD or ffx are minimised/visible or not…when the two processes are running the screen freezes every few seconds. XP Pro, P4, 1GB RAM, 128mb Radeon 9700 Pro.
Shame cos I like it apart from that.

{Why can’t we just right click on the desktop to have a program menu show up. One that you customize. One that you can add icons or not. One that you can add programs/files or not. One that does not require explorer and the task bar, etc to be running.

Why?}

Emerge desktop.
A shell replacement (kills startbar and all that)
Moves start menu + custom menu items to right click
Gives middle click a custom menu as well

Never crashed on me.

This is very practical when u activate it by moving mouse to sides of screens or corners. There you only see half or 1/4 of it therefore u then “scroll” to the icon u need.
