This java Risk runs surprisingly well and looks surprisingly good for a Java app. I was able to beat the hard AI without much trouble on my first attempt. Maybe the previous reviewer needs to up his game...

This game has a long way to go. The AI is pathetic.
On CRAP the opponents just sit there with no desire to ever move or capture anything. On EASY they simply throw everything they have at what borders them ... even if that means odds of 2 to 20. On the so-called excellent HARD AI the dice seem to become the willing servants of your opponent dealing you setback after setback. Enemy armies of 4 begin to master your Reserves of 12. It is a frustrating sham.

I have been looking for good freeware Risk implementation for a long long time but I could never find one. Up till now I have been playing 'Lux Delux' by Sillysoft which is really excellent but not freeware.
I am sure I am going to enjoy this one!
