I expected it to narrow down the files shown in the window to the filtered results. Doesn't seem to do that. Seems to invisibly 'select' (but not select like Windows selects files) and will let you do it's certain operations to them. Am I missing the real "Filter" button? I'm not seeing the files in an icon view. I can’t seem to get the filtering to work the way I expected.

I just saw it in Vista and that finally got me to go searching for it. And this is what I find. Hopefully it'll be as nice as I hope.
