Thanks guys for all your comments. The reasons I did not mention some of these programs are (a) that I'd already written about some of these at length (follow the following links to find my full Freewaregenius reviews of ShellEnhancer and Pitaschio), and (b) I have affinity to programs that do just one thing, because in many situations I find that I only want a single features contained in a program with many bells and whistles. I have not seen RadWinMan before; thanks for mentioning Radad I will look into it. As for PowerMenu... I tested this program long ago but somehow couldn't get into it ... it seems to require rather a lot of effort put into it. If you'd like to write a review for it Orin I'd gladly publish it. I'd also seen Filebox eXtender and, although it has some nice features, I simply didn't like the way it made my windows look (the little buttons interface), and decided against posting it.

FileBox eXtender is an easy-to-use option that creates on-top, roll-up, and navigation favorite buttons. Recommended by freewaregenuis poster emisjerry. Vista not supported, though.

I’m surprised you didn’t mention Pitaschio (http://pitaschio.ara3.net/index.htm). One of my favorite little apps and it make working with Windows much nicer. I use it to replace both WinRoll, AllSnap and Deskpins.

Another interesting alternative is Power Menu (http://www.abstractpath.com/powermenu/). Through right clicking the program in the task bar, you can get options that keep the program “Always on Top”, “Minimize to Tray”, set the “Transparency” or “Priority” (which I haven’t figured out yet). It replaces the Deskpins option by reducing keystokes and mouse travel distance.

Or, you could get ShellEnhancer, which does what the first two (and I believe the fourth one) do in one single app. Takes more memory, but consolidates the applications
