By far the best resource dashboard/info tool is

StatBar
http://www.statbar.nl/

Its a toolbar that auto hids and can show on mouse or click, has loads of things it monitors, is very configurable, has a few diff skins, very light on resources and rock solid.

I have installed it on hundred of PC's (I am ir pro) and leave it hidden so it need mouse to top and click to open - very helpful to diagnose CPU and RAm issues when doing support either on or off site

Give it a try!

I already tested it and it's not practical.

I prefer SysInfoMyWork 2.1:

Salman,
This program provides on-the-fly monitoring of cpu and memory usage at a glance, which means you do not need to manually start the task manager to get this info, and can monitor these metrics exactly at the point that you might need to.

It need SP1 as a minumum requirement and of course is compatible with SP2.
Oh, and I don't share your view that task manager is so cool.
