Filehippo is not complete but it is MUCH faster than many original download sites. Example Lavasoft for Ad-Aware, SpyBot S&D, Sun for Java, Adobe for Reader and so on, and so on.
Filehippo version checker works for progs they have on the site ONLY. Secunia PSI IMHO is much better and free on top of that.

I agree w / all the above — filehippo is garbage…. crashes all the time, gives wrong versions, etc. try http://www.radarsync.com instead.

Its good for update info, but not accurate, I have three updates listed, but all are latest version that I had updated via FileHippo. Have contacted FilleHippo re their comments button, but as of three+ months still no reply.
So be carefull and check your own versions

I think you have the worst web site for downloading freeware i have ever been to, what a loAD OF RUBBISH you put your visitors to I for one will not visit here again unless this sort of crap is gotten rid of.

I got the same problem. It crashes, and the error message is:

don’t know why but launching update checker just crash it. Maybe due to my .net machine

I just tried this out and it is pretty cool. The whole process only take a few seconds and there is nothing to install. Hopefully they will add even more programs to the list in the future.
