========USING CUSTOM ICON FOR GMAIL DRIVE========

To Change your GMail Drive Icon in Win XP sp3, Access Registry by start menu>run>regedit

Then, go to the below key in your registry.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2B3453E4-49DF-11D3-8229-0080BE509050}\DefaultIcon

In DefaultIcon you will see something like %SystemRoot%\System32\shell32.dll,8

The %SystemRoot% is the Windows folder ( C:\Windows )

You can put your NEW CUSTOM icon file in C:\Windows

eg; C:\Windows\New Custom.ico

Then make changes in the registry value %SystemRoot%\System32\shell32.dll,8

So that it looks somewhat like this %SystemRoot%\New Custom.ico

New Custom.ico is just for example. It could be any icon eg: myicon.ico, letter.ico etc, super mario.ico

Gmail Drive Shell Extension is EXTREMELY slow and unpredictable. i have tried 20 times tu upload some files, and all sorts of error messages appear. – NOT recommendable…

Be careful, though. I believe this violates GMail’s terms of service. I used it on an account and was warned by google that if I continued, they would ban me. Just thought I would let everyone know. Great utility, though!
