Vixy is a website that provides 3 services; it can download YouTube and other embedded FLV videos straight into a number of different video formats, including Ipod MP4, and it can Generate video RSS feeds or video Podcasts using either a YouTube URL or keyword search.
I’ve been looking for a good solution for how to download YouTube videos into Ipod MP4 video for some time, and this is certainly it. I’ve found some software that does this, but the quality of the MP4 video was rather poor. I am happy to report that Vixy’s video conversions are simply excellent.
Note that Vixy allows download into a number of formats. In addition to Ipod MP4, it supports DivX encoded AVI, 3GP for Mobile, and Mac MOV format. Or if you are interested in only downloading the audio track into MP3 it can do that as well. I somehow expect that the list of supported formats will continue to grow.
Vixy is also an excellent resource for creating video RSS feeds. I used it to create a feed by keyword search and it did a great job. The RSS feed will update automatically whenever new videos are posted that are related to your search term.
This service is really cool, really fast, and, if you have an Ipod and are interested in YouTube videos, it is simply a gift.

i downloaded software and its working eccept sound
i tried converting files using the website, but the result is always an empty 0bytes file. was it compressed with a codec?
I’ve downloaded the beta version, installed it – seems fine. I’ve also sent some money as donation through Paypal. The PROBLEM is that the START button is NOT active. Please Help!
by the way, the ads are showing up so the START button being inactive may have nothing to do with the internet/ads

Hi all.
The vixy staff do not care about our problems and they will not solve the problems after this long.
Their website is only a half piece of work, they do not answer emails and their FAQ, as they claim it is, is beyond useless.
The beta is useless as well and does not work whatsoever, and if it does it works only a certain amount of times and then it “breaks”. The ads it claims to need it ridiculous, and the button will not get ungreyed what ever you do.
If it works for you just a tiny bit (you get the video, but no sound or the other way around or even succeed to make anything work at all), you are one lucky guy.
There are a a lot of other more compitent programs on the net than this piece of broken fail.
I’m sorry to be so harsh, but this is the truth and I will erase all memory of vixy, in both my computer and my mind, to get rid of this polution.

Oh, just stop using web-based services in Downloading youtube videos. There are a ton of freeware out there that can do so! Just Google “Freeware download Youtube”!
The website doesn’t work for me it always ends up empty…and when ever i try and convert a song from youtube and its topic isn’t written in English it gives an error and the conversion fails.
Downloading youtube vids to mp3 format used to work for me but now result in empty files. rather than a problem with vixy, it may be something youtube has done.

If i convert youtube video’s it have not sound. In de beginning it work perfect now it is acting weird!
Vixy used to work perfectly, youtube’s done something with how their website works.
It’s definitely Youtube. It’s not vixy’s problem. Youtube probably changed the way their website works. It used to work perfectly fine for me, but not anymore…It does bother me that the vixy staff doesn’t bother fixing it.
I use this site to convert my youtube videos. took some time to convert it. more importantly, it converts it to an avi video but it does not contain no SOUND!!!!
Someone please fix this or else i will continue to use another software!!!
