Ripit4me is a program that works with either DVD Decrypter or DVD Shrink to rip copy protected DVD’s onto the hard drive. It acts as a front-end for those other ripping programs and will not do the ripping itself; RipIt4Me’s added value is that it enables these programs to handle stronger copy protections that some newer DVD’s come with, such as ARccOS and RipGuard DVD.

Rating: 55 Star Rating

Version tested:  1.5.1.0

Freewaregenius 5-Star PickRipIt4Me can also adjust the ripped DVD files into better DVD compliance – I’m not sure exactly what that means but I know that in some cases this will enable you to fix an issue where burned DVDs would have problems working on a standard DVD player even when they play just fine on the computer.

It’s a good idea to use this program even if you’ve been happily using DVD Decrypter to rip your DVDs, as the creator of that software has stopped all development on it. RipIt4Me will help  DVD Decrypter keep up to date with newer protection mechanisms.

RipIt4Me is very easy to use; ripping a DVD will not take more than 3-clicks or so, and the interface is very intuitive.

Note: this program does not have an installer; simply unpack and place in the right place. Go to preferences to make sure it knows the correct paths to the programs it needs.

Go to the program home page. If unavailable use this link to download RipIt4Me v.1710 and DVD Decrypter 3540 both.

This is an excellet and very easy program to use.
I found it makes the job of DVD ripping so easy indeed.
As mentioned it simply acts as a front end to enable the
DVD to be ripped to your hard drive.
    10 out of 10

  4. X says:

Why use RipIt4Me? I’m sure it’s a good program, but what does it do that DVDFab Decrypter doesn’t? I’m sticking with DVDFab Decrypter and DVD Shrink.

  5. blah says:

Because it gives you one front end program to use rather than needing to open and run several

Also, I have no idea what’s up with the site

I’ve used most of them. Believe me: Ripit4me does a better job handling the tough dvd’s and breezes through the average. I’ve had some of my “personal” dvd’s that simply would not copy with anything else.

I know we all have different luck with different software but it seems like I am the “chosen one” for this freeware. When I tried to use this software, all it detected was my MagicISO (also from freewaregenius—which is a great virtual cd/dvd rom by the way). When I tried to close it, it wouldn’t close. When I opened my task manager to kill the process, it also disabled the task manager. And then I tried to restart the computer but it wouldn’t let me do it. My computer refused to shut down until this software wizard is completely terminated. Only thing that was left for me to do was press the power button on my desktop. I am now trying to run this software the second time and it says (not responding) on the title bar. I have a very new and fast HP Pavilion Slimline so the computer isn’t the problem because I have tested many software from freewaregenius. If anybody has gone through similar problems and figured out how to troubleshoot, then please pass it along. Thank you.

    Gokool,
I’ve never seen this behavior, but my first reaction is to suggest uninstalling MagicISO and trying out either Daemon Tools or Virtual Clonedrive (both free).

Otherwise try another DVD ripper (DVD Fab HD Decrypter or DVD43).
