RocketDock

RocketDock Screenshot

I’m perfectly happy with my Windows machine. I don’t want a Mac. If I got a Mac as a gift I would probably return it and get a PC instead. That being said, I am all ga-ga over this Mac OS X style docking-launcher, probably the best of its kind. I’m using it on both my work and home laptops and am very pleased with how practical the thing is.

Version tested: 1.2.5

RocketDock can be placed on top or on the side of the screen, and can disappear when not used yet be handily accessible through a hover of the mouse. It also features more different style options (skins) than anybody would know what to do with.

Rocketdock contains a keylogger. Hence not a software to be recommended.

    Hi FWServant,

It was Zonealarm Antivirus v7 that told me there was key monitoring..etc

    Cheerio,

    Hello.
try other programs like rklauncher or objectdock.

my personal favorite is the objectdock.

I love this program! excellent, fast, stylish and very “mac-ish”. Also consumes very little system memory. Great find.

Rocketdock is a fantastic freeware application. It leaves a very low memory footprint, and is easily customazible. regarding the keylogger issue, avast, avg and one of the best freeware anti-virus programs around “antivir” detected nothing wrong with rocketdock. Rocketdock has been recommended in several blogs with no one indicating anything suspicious with the software.

My Comodo firewall went crazy as soon as I installed this program.

    Typical Message:

    “Application: LastFm.exe
C:\Program Files\RocketDock\RocketDock.exe has loaded RocketDock.dll into the Parent application explorer.exe using a global hook which could be used by keyloggers to steal private information…”

if I click on Deny then LastFM can no longer access the internet.

Comodo then displays similar messages about other application I have open
    “Application firefox.exe
    C:\Program Files\RocketDock\RocketDock.exe has loaded RocketDock.dll…”,
    “Application itunes.exe
    …”, etc.

I don’t know if it’s a keylogger or not but it’s highly unusual (why would a launcher dll want to do anything to firefox.exe or lastfm.exe?) so I will not be using it.

Also (automated?) analysis from file.net rates it as 72% dangerous

Yes, as soon as I installed it, my PrivacyKeyboard (anti-spyware) popped up with a message that one of modules of this software has been blocked! I wouldn’t like to use a program that contains keylogger in itself.

I was mad at all the friends who were missionaries of MAC’s and the MAC OS for years and years…
But 6 months ago I bought an iMac because I didn’t want Vista. God, what a relief!
No viruses, a silent machine and it does everything I want – instantly…
I was stupid as hell! :)

If there is a file inside to watch your keyboard then it is most likely to monitor shortcuts or something like that.
